This Privacy Policy explains what information the Deal To Dinner mobile app ("the App," "we," "us") collects, how we use it, and your choices. By using the App you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account: your email address and a securely hashed password when you register.
- Household profile: the names (or nicknames) you add for the people you cook for, along with their allergies, diets, and food dislikes. This is used to account for household preferences when generating recipes. Recipes are not allergen-verified; always check product labels and ingredients.
- Shopping activity: your selected store, the deals you add to your Pot and Shopping List, your budget setting, and recipes you save.
- Photos you take: if you use the in-aisle camera feature, the photo is sent for item recognition and is not stored after processing.
- Purchase status: your subscription status (active/trial) as reported by the app store via our payments provider. We do not receive or store your credit card number.
How we use your information
- To generate recipes that fit your household's allergies, diets, dislikes, and budget.
- To show your local store's current deals and prices.
- To save your lists and recipes so they are there when you return.
- To manage your subscription and unlock the app's features.
Third-party services
We share the minimum data needed with trusted providers to run these features:
- Kroger API — to fetch store locations, deals, and prices.
- AI providers (OpenAI / Google via Emergent) — recipe text, dish images, and in-aisle photo recognition.
- RevenueCat, Apple App Store, Google Play — to process and verify subscriptions.
- Cloud storage — to store generated dish images.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your account and saved data until you ask us to delete it. To delete your account and associated data, email us at the address below and we will remove it within 30 days.
Children
Deal To Dinner is intended for adults (grocery shoppers). It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Security
Passwords are stored hashed, and data is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
